The online-based, part-time degree
program BASA-online Bachelor of Arts in Social Work is offered in cooperation
of universities. The Central Office for Distance Learning at colleges in
Koblenz supports higher education institutions in the coordination work. The
program was re-accredited by the Accreditation Agency for Study Programmers in
Special Education, Care, Health and Social Work.
The program is targeted at
professionals from the social sector that can boast several years of relevant
professional experience already and seek a higher qualification and / or a
career change in the field of social work. BASA-Online is a working student, a
study of the cost of about 20 - requires 25 hours a week. The study period is 4
years (8 semesters). A relevant professional activities amounting to at least 15
hours a week while studying is mandatory.
With his successful graduation, the
academic degree "Bachelor of Arts of Social Arts" acquired. State
recognition as a social worker / social worker or social worker / social worker
carried out upon verification of legally required practice hours.
The program begins the summer and
winter semester.
The course contents are in accordance
with the didactic approach of "blended learning", ie an entanglement
of Internet-based self-study and a communicative landscaped campus program
created.
Online studies (approximately 75
percent)
The virtual online seminars will be
held on a multimedia learning platform on the Internet, which provides:
- Study materials (Academic texts,
tasks etc.)
- Communication tools (forums, chat
rooms, email, Live Classroom etc.)
Students edit the content of the
online modules and the associated tasks mainly through self-study and in small
groups, exchange information continuously. They are thereby in contact with the
teachers of the modules that support and accompany the virtual learning via
Internet.
Knowledge of general computer
operation, word processing, file management, working with different file
formats, as well as Internet and email usage are provided for the entry into
the BASA-online degree program.
Presence studies (approximately 25
percent)
In class modules skills and training
is provided, which must be based on practical exercises, intense reflection and
direct communication. They are therefore less suitable for the online teaching.
Students complete the presence of
modules at the university location in full-day seminars, participation in these
events is mandatory for them. The seminars are grouped into three-day block
courses that are offered about 6 times a year usually on weekdays. The timing
of the block events is as follows:
Day 1 10.00 - 17.00 Clock
Day 2 09.00 - 17.00 Clock
Day 3 09.00 - 16.00 Clock
Overall, the study includes 17 online
modules, 8 presence modules, 2 project works (theory and practice Project) as
well as the Bachelor thesis and the colloquium Semester fee for the semester ticket,
tasks of the Student Union and the Student Union in the amount of currently €
234.79 In addition, travel costs and any costs for accommodation during the
residential phases (6 times a year) as well as for its own PC, Internet access
and printing of the study materials must be included.
